Priestess of Snake Goddess, Knossos 2000 B.C. The Palace of Minos. Regarded as characteristic of feminine fashion in Minoan Crete.
The "Snake Goddess" was actually just a priestess who went drugged into a dark room to experience the prophecies of mother nature. She then came outside and spoke to the people what she has seen in her visions (new law, a threat, etc) while holding two snakes to prove that she doesn't lie since the snakes wouldn't dare to bite the representative of the goddess.
